Jon Goldberg joined Alexander Ricks PLLC as a Member in 2017. Jon principally represents owners and developers in the leasing, acquisition, disposition, development, management and financing of commercial real estate. Jon also represents non-real estate companies with their corporate real estate needs. Jon has a particular focus on commercial real estate leasing and currently represents owners in the leasing of office, retail and industrial portfolios totaling more than 15 million square feet. Prior to joining Alexander Ricks, he spent 11 ½ years practicing at AMLAW 100 law firms and their predecessors, including approximately three years as a partner.

Jon is the immediate past president of Olde Providence Racquet Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, one of the Southeast’s largest tennis clubs. He previously served on the Executive Committee of the Carolinas chapter of CoreNet Global (the pre-eminent trade group for corporate real estate executives and service providers) and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. Jon also served on the Communications Committee for the Mecklenburg County Bar Association. Jon earned the LEEP-AP designation in 2009.

• Represented developer in acquisition of defunct enclosed shopping mall in Southeastern U.S. and subsequent $200M re-development and re-leasing of new mixed-use project
• Represented purchaser in $284M acquisition of Class A office tower in Charlotte, NC
• Represented developer in $40M acquisition and financing of mixed-use center and development pads for multi-family projects in Triangle region of North Carolina
• Represented REIT in acquisition, development and leasing of five-building distribution center in Charlotte, North Carolina
• Represented landlords in multiple full-building and 100,000+ square foot office and industrial leases
• Represented logistics company in 130,000 square foot build-to-suit transaction in Triad region of North Carolina
• Represented developers in development, leasing and financing of lifestyle shopping centers, and the leasing of numerous lifestyle centers, power centers, grocery-anchored centers, single-tenant sites and other retail and mixed-use projects.
• Represented manufacturer in 160,000 square foot lease and subsequent acquisition of the facility in Charlotte area

Personal.

Jon was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland and Raleigh, North Carolina and first moved to the Charlotte region in 1997. He enjoys tennis, hiking and spending time outdoors. Jon is married and has two children, ages 8 and 4. Jon played varsity tennis at UNC and has competed in the Charlotte Professional Tennis League for the past 10 years.
